Immerse yourself in the magic of mahjong!
In Mahjong, the scoring depends on the combinations of tiles, their rarity and complexity. Below is the scoring system that can be used in the classic version of the game:
Basic combinations:
- Pong (triplet) - 2 points
A combination of three identical tiles. For example, three tiles with the bamboo number 5.
- Chow (sequence) - 1 point
A sequence of three tiles of the same suit, for example, 4, 5, 6 circles.
- Kong (four identical tiles) - 4 points
A combination of four identical tiles that gives additional points.
- Pair - 1 point
A pair consists of two identical tiles, for example, two tiles with the number 8.
Additional bonuses:
- Mahjong (winning hand) - 20 points
When a player collects all four sets (triplets or sequences) and a pair, he calls “Mahjong” and wins.
- Tournament Bonus - 10 points
Additional points if the game is played as part of a tournament or special competition.
- Closed Mahjong (self-assembly) - 10 points
If a player assembles his winning hand on his own (without help from other players), he receives 10 additional points.
- Full Set (Big Mahjong) - 30 points
If a player has collected all the tiles of the same suit (for example, all the bamboo tiles), he receives bonus points.
Penalties:
- Penalty for an incorrect combination - minus 5 points
If a player mistakenly calls a mahjong or makes a mistake in a combination, he is awarded a penalty.
- Penalty for skipping a move - minus 1 point
If a player skips a move due to his own fault, for example, by not choosing a tile or not responding to a suggestion, he is awarded a penalty.
Additional bonuses:
- Long sequence bonus - 5 points
If the player has collected a sequence of more than three tiles (for example, 4, 5, 6, 7 bamboo), he is awarded an additional 5 points.
- Rare tile bonus - 3 points
For using rare tiles, such as Eastern, Western or other rare suits, the player can get additional points.
